Since 2018, the Bionutrient Institute (formerly the Real Food Campaign) has conducted surveys of farms, markets, and stores across the United States, generating a fully public database of food quality using established lab methods. We have built a continually expanding digital library of nutritional outcomes to support research and decision-making, and documented significant variation in food quality, as well as a relationship between soil health and nutritional outcomes. 

How can the Bionutrient Institute Lab help your research? 

Utilize our software to simplify farm data collection:

Our library currently contains thousands of crop and soil samples from 24 crops collected from a wide array of stores, farmers markets, and farms with diverse management practices across the USA and Europe.

What if your crops are not on the list?

We can develop processes for new crops— contact us for details. We can work with your team or independently to conduct a literature review and identify requirements for analysis, and develop methods for lab intake, dilutions, and model building.

 CoffeeShop

The Farmer’s CoffeeShop is a visual benchmarking and social networking tool designed to support strategic decision-making on farms, encourage knowledge sharing, and improve the information cycle.

Producers can enter information about farm management practices, field tests, and lab tests to help identify best practices for their operation, then quickly find and compare contextually similar producers.
